RE: The Importance of Letter Writing. This is me practising what I preach. I have prepared a few cards, and I am sharing my crafty ideas in the hopes of inspiring you to create your own. You don't need anything fancy. Often you can make fantastic, quirky cards using scraps and whatever is in your cupboard. This is what I've done:
You'll never guess. This design is simply an extreme close-up of a playing card. I printed it on A5 white card. Cheap from Officeworks. |

Watercolour with special masking tape |
Fruit stamps! Get a wedge of orange or apple or whatever (carrot and potato also work well), stamp it into watercolour or acrylics and make a fun stamp pattern! I've used an orange colour scheme (guess why!). I've also cut holes using a hole puncher and tied rope. The rope was only a few dollars from a cheap store. |
Watercolour stripes. It took about a minute to make. |
Experimenting with dots. |
Playing cards are a work of art. They deserve to be on a card. |

The picture was scanned from a magazine. I got this one printed at Officeworks. They do a really nice print. Of course, if you have a decent printer at home, that will do just as well. Inside are scraps of paper from a paper bag. |
